Badge set to name
Since January 1, 2014, there is a new registration system in our country, with a plastic card containing a chip to replace the old paper badge.
There are two possibilities for the name on the badge. Which is applicable, depends on the vendor. Dealerships and large cars dealers may purchase ascription car itself. For companies that are not recognized by the RDW to be allowed to do so, the ascription works the same as a private individual.
- The seller will first check whether the agreed purchase price is in the bank account.
- You can also pay in cash.
- With the purchase, the buyer must identify themselves.
- The badge will name and address as the ID, such as your driver’s license. These data are entered into the computer of the RDW.
No recognition / individual:
Here, too, the seller does not do anything, as long as the car has not been paid, or you have convinced him that you will do it in cash.
Buyer and seller go together to a branch of Post NL (nowadays often in a supermarket or bookstore) or a Registration Desk at the RDW authorized dealer. Here the seller submits the old license plate or the two parts of the nine-digit code. The buyer must identify themselves.
In both cases, dealer or Post NL, now comes directly from the printer to the report of the appellation, containing the first part of a nine-digit code. This A4 you have to have with you in the car, this is the first evidence that the car is yours.
Within two days the buyer receives via the RDW mail the registration card. From now on you must have with you when you’re driving in the car. At the same time, you get a form with the second half of the nine-digit code. You should keep in a safe along with that first A4 sheet because you need it again if your car ever again doing the hand. The ascription costs € 9.91 and will be charged to the purchaser.
Go under any circumstances uninsured your new own the road. The risks you run, are unacceptable. The insurance of the car that you will settle before you get the car delivered. The insurance can already issue a temporary cover, the paperwork (policy, green card, etc.) then comes later.
If you buy a car, the insurance initially wants to know a few things from you:
- What is the license plate of the car?
- What is the value of the car (purchase price)?
- What is the weight of the car (condition on the license plate)?
- The so-called reporting code, which are the last four digits of the chassis number is also on the license plate.
About car insurance, particularly in the form of comparison is enormous much information. For proper understanding here are some basic concepts and how you should act. There are broadly three types of car insurance: Liability, All Risks (also called hulls) and an intermediate form that occurs when WA Peak, WA Casco limited and some other names.
WA stands for third-party liability and therefore the mandatory minimum. This just means that you are insured for the damage you cause to another. So, if you run over or into another car, then insurance will pay for damage to the other car, but not yours.
All Risks (Casco) is an expanded version. Now it is not only the loss insured to any party, but also the damage to your car, but less in the policy agreed on amount of ‘excess.’ Damage will cost you own view always money.
The intermediate, third additional means you harm the other party is assured, but the damage to your car resulting from a fire, theft or storm damage. There you can then assert itself nothing.
Also at the ANWB you take out insurance. Check the coverage about what is and is not reimbursed and calculate the premium. Also, you can also orient optionally a car insurance through various comparison sites.
Bonus / malus
This is a system where you get a discount on your premium (bonus) or more must pay (Malus), depending on the number of years you have driven without having made a claim on the insurance. The longer you damage and safely drive through the traffic, the cheaper the insurance. The bonus can be up over many years, to 80% (you will only pay one-fifth of the premium!). Separately, there are other factors that affect the amount of the premium, such as age or residence of the driver.
This term is often misunderstood. It has nothing to do with the severity of the damage to the car, although there is such a thing as a technical total loss: truly beyond repair. In practice, it is purely a total loss calculation, a comparison between different variables: how much is the damage and what is called the current value of the car. Often it is so that when the injury two-thirds of the value of the car, or is more, the insurance company pays that amount and does not proceed to repair. The damage is much higher than the value of the car. You get paid the current market value, which in theory you should be able to buy back the same car.
Every holder of a license plate (hence the name) must pay taxes, depending on the weight of the car. Very confusing this tax parlance is often called car tax or road tax, but those are old names. The tax you always know to find.
Once you have asked for a name badge, you get an attack of this tax. The amount thereof is dependent on the weight of the car (see license number), which goes into kilo per 100 weight classes. Part of the tax goes to the province. The amount of this so-called provincial surcharges “may determine the area itself. Therefore the same car in one area slightly more expensive than in another.
